Kipe Recruiting

The Pipefitting Recruiters Who Came Up In The Trades

We fill pipefitter, steamfitter, welder/fitter, foreman and superintendent roles for family-owned mechanical contractors, private equity backed groups and mission critical facilities across the Mid-Atlantic and the Texas metros. Pre-vetted, fast, with a 60-day replacement guarantee.

A Fitter Short Is A Job Behind Schedule.

Pipe doesn’t hang itself. Every week you’re a fitter short, the schedule slips, the GC starts asking questions, and the crew you have left eats the overtime.

You’ve probably tried agencies before. They sent guys who couldn’t read a drawing, couldn’t pass a weld test, or never made it to the gate. That’s not just expensive. It’s exhausting.

There’s a better way to staff a pipe crew.

A Recruiting Process Built For Pipefitting.

Mike Kipe started out at Kipe Steel, the family machine shop, running the laser while his dad drafted the designs. His brother-in-law’s HVAC career pulled him into the mechanical trades. Metal work on one side, mechanical systems on the other. That is where this company came from, and it is why we screen the way we do.

We work with mechanical contractors and fab shops. Family-owned outfits, private equity backed groups and mission critical facilities across the Mid-Atlantic and the Texas metros. We are a small team and Mike runs every client relationship himself. Not a junior associate. Not an account manager you never hear from again.

Pipefitting-specific screening

We know the difference between a fitter who can lay out and rig off a drawing and one who has only ever handed up material. We ask what a welder/fitter has actually run, what procedures he is qualified on, and what tests he has passed. We know steamfitting is its own animal. And we know the red flags in a fitter’s work history.

Pre-vetted candidates only

Every fitter we send you has already been screened against your role. Your pay range, your must-haves, your deal-breakers. You don’t get a stack of resumes to dig through.

Fees that fit how you hire

Premium — 25%. Contingency placement. Non-exclusive. You stay free to work other agencies on the same role.

Standard — 22.5%. Exclusive. We are your only agency on the role.

Partner. For shops hiring three or more a year. Your rate steps down starting with your second placement. Ask on your intake call.

Workforce Pipeline. A custom program for shops hiring continuously. Scoped on a pipeline review call.

All rates are figured on first-year total compensation. Contingency placements carry no upfront cost.

60-day replacement guarantee

If a hire doesn’t work out in their first 60 days, we replace them at no additional cost.

How It Works.

1. 15-Minute Intake Call.

We talk through what you’re hiring for — the role, the pay range, must-haves, deal-breakers, your culture, and what “great” looks like for your shop.

2. Targeted Sourcing.

We go find fitters who match what you told us. That includes good hands who are not reading job ads but would take the right call.

3. Pre-Screened Shortlist.

You get a short list, not a stack. Every fitter on it comes with a rundown of the work he has actually done, his certs and weld tests, and our notes from the screening call.

4. Interview and Hire.

You interview the candidates you want to talk to. When you make a hire, we follow up during the first 60 days to make sure the fit is right — not just on day one, but after they’ve settled in.

60-Day Replacement Guarantee

How the Guarantee Works

If a hire doesn’t stick within 60 days, we replace them at no additional cost. No arguing, no fine print, no exclusions. One backfill per placement.

The 60-day guarantee is the floor of the relationship — not the ceiling.

Ready to Talk?

Start with a 15-minute call. We will talk about the role, what your crew needs, and whether we are the right fit for you. Roles we fill: pipefitters, steamfitters, welder/fitters, foremen and superintendents. If you are hiring more than a few a year, ask us about a Workforce Pipeline.
